I am a proud father of 5; Isaiah, Chandler, Kerry II, Jerriah and jenesis. The youngest of 3 boys. I am a military brat and a proud Air Force Airman. I was born in Berlin, Germany moved to Colorado for the first 4 years of my life, then Washington DC for 18 months and spent the rest of my childhood in Columbus Ga. I found my love for writing in high school. I spent many summers Hooked on Phonics because of me being lazy in school and not doing my work. English was always my favorite subject. Ironically, I hated reading. My father made us read before doing anything fun. I guess he set the foundation for The Art Of Uplifting Volume I.
I have been through a lot in my life. In key moments, my lowest moments, I pushed everyone away. In these tumultuous times I found my inner strength. Even as I was about to attempt suicide, I had a certain calm. In this series, I am going to reveal what I did to overcome and bounce back from life’s biggest hurdles. I cleared some, but also stumbled over a few… But I never quit. I always got back up. What I needed was encouragement. Positivity. In order to receive that, I had to open myself up. Be vulnerable.
